Without Further Ado...

welp, today is the big day...
i'm ready to share my news....

(no i'm not pregnant)

 .
 .
 .
 .
 .
 .
 .

i have decided to launch a painting business!!!

Original Large Abstract Acrylic Painting Titled Collette

it's named ReverbyHannah on etsy and you can check it out here!

 ever since i was a child i've had such a passion for painting, loving the creativity it releases, and the beauty that results from that creativity. as an adult, life had gotten in the way of my passion. since our move to nyc over three years ago, i've been dreaming of starting my own painting company, yet have allowed my fears to stop me from truly pursuing that dream. i've realized its time to stop living in fear, making up excuses, and its time to just do it...yolo, ya know? (that's you only live once, for all you non-rap  music listening peeps out there)
hence the name, rêver, which is french for 'dream away'.. this name has special meaning for me.
opening this shop signifies me finally living out one of my lifelong dreams..

as of now i have four paintings up for sale, but will continue adding more as they come and am happy to take commissions as well!

i'm very excited to have this site launched before the holidays so if you are interested in getting someone special in your life a unique, one-of-a-kind gift this year, shoot me an email and we can collaberate to create the perfect gift.

thank you for your support, helping give me the courage to follow a passion and find joy in my journey...

mkae sure to head over to my etsy shop to check out the rest of my work.

etsy shop of the day: birdhouse jewelry

while at the brooklyn flea market the other day (more to come on that fabulousness that is the brooklyn flea) i stopped at amy lapierre's, of birdhouse jewelry, wonderful booth and simply fell in love. she had such beautiful pieces of jewelry that were, much to my delight, actually affordable! i've been looking for the perfect 'v' pendant necklace for a while now and i found it here!
i would have to say my favorite part about my new necklace is the fact the the length is adjustable...that's right, there are three different lengths i can wear this bad boy depending on the collar of my shirt. i love that!

here are a few of my favorite items she has on her site right now:

Birdhouse Jewelry- Gold/Silver 5 Oval Necklace
{love this simple understated necklace}

Birdhouse Jewelry- Colored Leather and Gold Bracelet
{these were gorgeous in person. they reflected the light beautifully}
Birdhouse Jewelry - Gold Saddle Ring
{love a good statement ring}

{love my v necklace! i wear it everyday}

she has some gorgeous pieces that i'm sure to put on my wishlist for any upcoming holidays *hint, hint mr. williams* ;)

make sure to check out all her shop has to offer here

what is your favorite piece she has?
which item do you want to add to your holiday wishlist?

etsy shop of the day

i'm doing my best to get back in the blogging swing of things! i'm bringing back my weekly etsy shop feature.

i've been on the hunt for the perfect pillows to replace ours on the sofas (once viv is past her spitting up faze, that is) and can't quite make a decision as to which direction i want to go with the look of them.

i would GLADLY take any of this pillows from this shop tho! they are all simply breathtaking. i especially love that they use all vintage materials from east and central asia. not only do these materials make beautiful goods but it's also a wonderful way to upcycle old things, bringing new life to them.

Material Recovery makes not only just pillows, but also beautiful throws, bedcovers, and textile accessories. my eye is drawn to the pillows tho. i had the hardest time narrowing down what my favies are, but here are a few of my picks...

i'd love to see this sitting on my bed tonight...is there such thing as a pillow fairy?

 what ones are your favies? would you like to have the pillow fairy leave any of these on your sofa/bed tonight?

Etsy Find of the Day/ Office Space

Sooo... I found this super cute French Provincial desk on Etsy, with a fresh coat of white paint, how cute would it look!

If paired with, say, this cute modern chair,(I'm thinkin' the white one!)

and maybe, this cute rug from IKEA

and this awesome chandelier from Design Within Reach (only I want the RED one!)

and some piece art,

as well as this Ann Carrington piece that I love! (It's made out of tons of buttons!)

and maybe my dream kartell bourgie lamp of course! :)

Add say a simple white bookshelf with lots of design books and all my favorite magazines like this one

add an inspiration pinboard like so, for any ideas and photos
and I'd say we're off to a great start in creating a fabulous office for all my design ideas to stem from!

Find of the Day

Today's find comes courtesy of PillowPallooza on Etsy. I adore the fun playful attitude of this pillow. It would make a great addition to a modern sofa or also to a vintage Chesterfield or french provincial style sofa!

Find of the Day

Tom Toupin of Etsy.com creates these fabulous marquee style letters and signs that look vintage even though they're brand new! I've been dying for a large "W" to put up in our dining room ever since Kyle and I saw an antique one at the Olde Good Things store on the Upper West Side. However, that one was $1500! Tom's handmade letters are MUCH more affordable and just as full of character! Through a series of layers of paint he creates the distressed faux-metal rust appearance that makes these letters look like they've been freshly drug out of a salvage yard. The signs come in pink/orange, yellow/red and white/blue, however, he is open to creating custom color combinations if desired. He originally made the signs 4'x4', but has since sized them down to 2'x2'. I think this is exactly what I've been looking for!

Find of the Day

Today's Find of the Day comes courtesy of Etsy. I adore these upcycled paper wreaths made by Lana Manis of Simple Joys Paperie. Lana found a way of making a living out of her love of books, and I'm loving them too! The beauty of these wreaths is that they're filled with words from old books, giving them layers and layers of texture, content and meaning.
"I don’t destroy perfectly good books as a rule, and use books that are falling apart, have pages missing, or are damaged in one way or another.". I love the way these old books are being brought back to life in a whole new way to bring a smile to your day.

I think these could make an awesome unique hostess gift for all those holiday parties you'll be attending this season!

Check out all of her work at http://www.simplejoyspaperie.etsy.com/
